Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Vegetables

Wash all vegetables thoroughly.

Cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets.

Slice the carrots into thin rounds or matchsticks.

Slice the mushrooms evenly.

Thinly slice the onion and bell pepper.

Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

Step 2: Prepare the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine:

  • Soy sauce
  • Oyster sauce
  • Honey
  • Sesame oil
  • Cornstarch
  • Vegetable broth
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper flakes

Whisk until the cornstarch dissolves completely.

Set aside.

Step 3: Heat the Pan

Heat vegetable oil in a large wok over medium-high heat.

Allow the oil to become hot before adding the vegetables.

Step 4: Cook the Hard Vegetables

Add broccoli and carrots first.

Cook for about 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently.

The vegetables should become slightly tender while staying crisp.

Step 5: Add Aromatics

Add:

  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Onion

Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant.

Step 6: Add Mushrooms

Stir in the sliced mushrooms.

Cook for 3–4 minutes until they release their moisture and begin to brown.

Step 7: Add Bell Pepper

If using bell pepper, stir it into the pan.

Cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 8: Pour in the Sauce

Give the prepared sauce one final stir.

Pour it evenly over the vegetables.

Continue stirring for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats every vegetable.

Step 9: Garnish

Remove from heat.

Top with:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Serve immediately.
